Ready to speak more Dutch — and have fun doing it?
This course is perfect for expats professionals who already know the basics of Dutch and are ready to take the next step. If you’ve completed a beginner’s course and want to feel more confident using Dutch in everyday situations, this A1+ group course is for you.
You’ll learn in a small, friendly and highly interactive group. The course has a lively pace and is best suited for learners who enjoy an interactive, thoughtful approach and feel comfortable working with language at a conceptual level. Speaking, connecting and enjoying the learning process are just as important as learning the language itself.
What you’ll do
Over 12 engaging sessions of 2 hours and 15 minutes, you’ll practice Dutch you can actually use in daily life. Every lesson is interactive, with plenty of speaking time for everyone.
You’ll learn how to:
ask questions about public transport
chat with neighbours
make small talk with colleagues in the hallway or canteen
talk about your weekend
explain symptoms at the doctor’s
and even deal with the plumber when your heating breaks down 😉
How we learn
The focus is on speaking and understanding spoken Dutch. You won’t be only sitting back and listening — you’ll be actively speaking, practicing and experimenting with Dutch in every class. Grammar is there to support you, not to slow you down.
We work with:
dialogues and role plays
fun games and short animations
original Dutch songs written by your teacher, Mylène
mini “real-life” challenges, such as asking for information in a shop, buying something at the drugstore, or approaching the reception desk at the library.
And yes — we’ll also go on one or two field trips to the center of Hilversum, so you can try out your Dutch in shops, cafés or wherever we end up!
