Ready to speak more Dutch — and have fun doing it?

This course is for expat professionals who are already at around A2- level and would like to continue towards A2+ in a small, friendly group.
You may already be able to manage in everyday situations and have simple conversations in Dutch, but would like to feel more confident speaking, listening and interacting in Dutch. This course helps you build exactly that confidence in a practical, enjoyable and supportive way.
What you’ll do
Over 12 engaging sessions of 2 hours and 15 minutes, you’ll practise Dutch that you can actually use in daily life. Every lesson is interactive, with plenty of speaking time for everyone.
You’ll learn how to:
talk more confidently about everyday life, work and social situations
describe experiences and talk about things that happened in the past
express your opinion and ask follow-up questions
make small talk with colleagues, neighbours or other parents at school
deal with practical situations such as visiting the doctor, calling a service provider or asking for help in a shop
understand more spoken Dutch and respond more naturally in conversation
How we learn
The main focus is on speaking and understanding spoken Dutch. You won’t be sitting back and listening for long — you’ll be actively speaking, practising and experimenting with Dutch in every class.
We work with:
dialogues and role plays
pair work, group work and interactive speaking activities
fun games, short videos and creative exercises
original Dutch songs and sing-along videos written by your teacher, Mylène
mini real-life challenges and activities outside the classroom
We’ll also go on one or two small field trips in the centre of Hilversum, so that you can practise your Dutch in real-life situations — for example in shops, cafés or other everyday settings.
Grammar is there to support you, not to slow you down. The course book is mainly used as a guide for homework and extra practice at home.

Course book
For this course, we will use the new edition of Nederlands in gang (approx. €52). The book will be published in July. Please don’t order it yet — I will send you the correct ordering details as soon as they are available.
