Tijdens deze gezellige en inspirerende club praat je in een kleine groep over boeken, films, actuele onderwerpen en alles wat er speelt in Nederland. Een leuke en ontspannen manier om veel Nederlands te spreken, je woordenschat uit te breiden en meer gevoel te krijgen voor hoe Nederlanders praten en denken.

Docent Mylène begeleidt de gesprekken en zorgt ervoor dat iedereen actief kan meedoen. Waar nodig besteden we ook aandacht aan veelgemaakte foutjes, uitspraak, intonatie, vloeiend spreken en natuurlijk taalgebruik.

Naast taal draait deze club ook om ontmoeting, uitwisseling en interessante gesprekken.

This course is for beginners and perfect for expat professionals who enjoy learning together in a friendly, social environment.

During these 12 sessions of 2 hours and 15 minutes each, you will practice daily conversations in different situations. You will learn how to introduce yourself, talk about your hobby’s, family and work. After the course you will know what to say in supermarket, shops, bars, restaurants, etc.

You will get to know the basics of Dutch grammar and vocabulary. The focus of this course will be on speaking. We will practice with example dialogues, Dutch songs written by teacher Mylène, animations, spontaneous conversations, and fun games. We’ll even go to the Hilversum city centre, to shops, or a restaurant, where you can put your new Dutch skills into practice! Your teacher will give you assignments that you can do at home, in shops, bars etc. We will also spend some time on Dutch culture.

We call this course hybrid, because live lessons are combined with online lessons. The online lessons prepare you for conversations you will have during our ‘live’ lessons at and outside of our location, where we organize settings in which we speak a lot. Think about our ‘Cook and Talk’, our visits to shops, terraces to order drinks, role plays and fun language games.

Your teacher Mylène will encourage you to have lots of chats. In a small group (max. 8 people) you will explore everyday conversations, learn the basics of Dutch grammar and vocabulary and practice actively with what you learn.

Talking while walking has so many advantages: it’s relaxing, talking goes more smoothly, and it’s super healthy! A welcome activity after a long day at the office ánd great for your Dutch.

For these lessons you need to have reached the basic level A1.

Join our Intensive, coronaproof, Dutch Summer Course for Beginners and Beginners Plus in the first week of the summer holidays! Immerse yourself in Dutch for 5/6 days, on Monday 12 July, Tuesday 13 July, Wednesday 14 July, Friday 16 July and Saturday 17 July, 5 hours a day. On Thursday 17 July there will be no class so you can rest a bit to give your brain time to process the new knowledge and to recap what you’ve learned so far.

Each morning we will teach you online (over Zoom) all about basic Dutch grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. You will practice with the most important words and short sentences you need in daily life interactions. We’ll prepare you for the conversations you will have in the afternoon.

In the afternoon, we will take you to the centre of Hilversum to get to know the hotspots and practice what you learned in the morning session. This means real life conversations in different kinds of shops, at the market, in the supermarket, at the station etc. If you’re lucky, you might find yourself ordering an ice-cream in Dutch at Hilversum’s greatest and coolest ice cream shop Pistache🍦

We will end the course in style with a ‘gezellige’ picnic in the Hilversum woods.

Give your confidence a boost and join this interactive and advanced Dutch course. You will practice Dutch in several situations and contexts. Each lesson is designed as a workshop, with a clear goal and tools (vocab and grammar) to reach that goal. Don’t expect a lot of homework, but you usually will have to read a text or watch a video before each lesson.
